As we continue to see an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in our community, along with a stark increase in the number of variant cases, maintaining the health and safety of our team members and members is as important as ever.
As such, we are revising our mask policy to a strict No Mask, No Entry policy as of April 19th.
Entry to all Calgary Co-op Locations will be granted only to those wearing a face mask (children two and under are exempt). Individuals who are unable to wear a face mask due to a medical condition must wear a face shield. Customers must wear a face mask or shield that covers their nose and mouth at all times.
For those unable or who would prefer not to wear a face mask or face shield, we encourage you to use our alternate shopping solutions including:
As we continue to place a high emphasis on the health and safety of our team members and members, we have maintained a number of safety practices in all of our stores.
We thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation with this change.

Following the province’s announcement of a number of new restrictions on Tuesday to help manage the rising cases of COVID-19 in our province, we have a few updates to share with you to help ensure you continue to have a safe and pleasant shopping experience in our stores.
Capacity limits: The province has mandated that all retail stores must reduce their customer capacity to 15%. This reduced customer capacity will help further ensure increased safety for you and for our team members. To respect this restriction, while continuing to provide you with an exceptional, safe shopping experience, we will:
• Focus our efforts on expediting your visit through our stores with as many tills open as possible for a quick in and out shopping experience.
• Continually monitor to ensure we are within the customer limits, with minimal line-ups required in and outside our stores.
To help us manage through this time, we ask that you keep your store visits to one family member whenever possible.
Mandatory Masks: Masks are now mandatory in Alberta. As you know, we made the decision to make masks mandatory in all of our stores and lines of business several weeks ago. We appreciate the high compliance rate we are seeing and thank you for taking this step for the safety of all.
While many of the new provincial restrictions do not come into effect until Sunday December 13th, we are taking swift action to ensure we are in line with the new measures and can continue to offer the service and excellent shopping experience we are known for.
Thank you for continuing to support Calgary Co-op and shopping local.

Dear Valued Member,
Since my last email to you, I have been thinking a lot about our team members, members and community. As the number of cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, now is a critical time for us all to be mindful of what we are doing to help stop the spread of this virus. We know from health officials that frequent cleaning and sanitizing, social distancing and wearing face masks helps reduce the spread. We also know that as a community, our numbers are far too high and that we all need to take extra measures now in order to protect each other.
Early on in this pandemic, Calgary Co-op implemented a number of health and safety measures in our stores and we have maintained these measures throughout the pandemic. With the numbers continuing to climb, we know it is crucial that we continue to focus on the health and safety of our members and team members. So in addition to the strict cleaning and sanitizing guidelines already in place in our stores and workplaces, we are also making face masks mandatory in all of our locations and lines of business (unless exempt due to a medical condition) and reminding everyone to wear these masks correctly (over the nose and mouth). While we have always adhered to all local bylaws with respect to mask usage, these bylaws are not in place in all communities where we have stores. We recognize this is a small step but a very important one.
As we continue to navigate this pandemic, you may also see the reintroduction of some previous safety measures including placing capacity limits in store to ensure physical distancing is possible. We appreciate waiting in line or wearing a mask is not always ideal, however these small steps will have a big impact especially over the coming festive season.
The safety of our members and team members and community is of paramount importance.
We thank you for your continued support and for your kindness towards our team members, who are working hard to ensure our stores remain safe places to shop.
