What we do

Calgary Co-op Cannabis is proud to be a division of the Calgary Co-operative Association Limited, one of the largest retail cooperatives in North America with over 440,000 members, 3900+ employees, assets of $486 million and annual sales of over 1.3 billion. Similar to our Calgary Co-op Wine Spirits Beer, our cannabis stores operate separately from any current Calgary Co-op retail stores.

Calgary Co-op takes pride in hiring outstanding people from the communities we serve. That’s how we built our company from the ground up to become Calgary’s fourth largest non-government employer. Calgary Co-op Cannabis will deliver an exceptional customer experience through a highly knowledgeable team with a commitment to quality, value and the responsible use of products.

Our cannabis stores retail dried cannabis and cannabis oil, in addition to cannabis accessories. Purchases will qualify for the annual member refund.

AGLC regulations

The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) is the only organization with the ability to sell cannabis online in Alberta. Co-op Cannabis can only sell products in stores, although you can view products and order online, you’ll need to pick up in-store.

No cannabis products are allowed to be consumed in our stores or delivered to consumers. People under the age of 18 will not be permitted in the stores.

Our past and future

We boldly planned for our future, over 60 years ago. Today, we’re a stable, unique and established employer in Calgary. Eagerly determined to do some good, right from the beginning, we:

  • Hire our neighbours,
  • Create strong teams in collaborative environments,
  • Strive to help our team members feel good about their job.

Our team members have always made Calgary Co-op what it is, and we don’t take their well-being lightly. Our story is about people.

A people story

Our team members are dedicated, courteous and reliable. It’s their daily goal to make our members’ shopping experiences exceptional.

Providing outstanding service, quality products, superior facilities and exceptional value to our members and customers is Calgary Co-op’s commitment, but it’s our team members who honour our promise. We support our team members and their careers through sound leadership and direction, as well as offering a full range of training courses, management development programs, career development assistance program and an attractive compensation and benefits package.

Our people reflect the communities we serve; our diversity enhances the way we connect with our customers and helps us know them better. Together, we work toward an inclusive environment where our difference makes us stronger.
